The Washington Network's Clients Enhance Technical Knowledge at No Cost With Convergence Technologies Training and Certification

Alexandria, VA — January 26, 2010— The Washington Network, Inc., a leader in unified communications in the Metro DC area, announced today that it is offering advanced on-demand communications technology training to its clients.

With this new service, small to mid-sized companies and associations in Northern Virginia, Washington and Maryland can now enhance their technical knowledge – at zero cost – by taking Convergence Technologies Training (CTT) and achieving certification.  The Washington Network has created this program to enhance the skills sets of the businesses it serves. The program was created in conjunction with Technology Assurance Group (TAG), an international organization of unified communications providers representing $400 million in combined sales, and its strategic partner TechnologyUS.

“We always look for ways to improve our clients’ profitability and productivity. We launched CTT to help them stay at the forefront of the communications technology they rely on every day,” according to Rick Endres, president of The Washington Network, Inc.

“CTT is phenomenal.  It delivers the valuable information to people who need it and use it every day.  It gives us another opportunity to share our expertise, it enhances our clients’ understanding of their solutions, and it’s going to help their operations run more effectively.

“We’re committed this kind of training because more knowledge leads to better operations, better decisions and more success for our clients.”

CTT provides students with a solid understanding of voice, video and data technologies, focusing on practical, day-to-day knowledge of convergence technologies.  Designed to dispel the mystery of VoIP phone systems and advanced applications, the training materials are written and delivered step-by-step and in layman terms.

CTT is an extensive program with 13 modules comprised of 30 sessions that can be spread over a period of several weeks. The courseware builds upon each segment allowing for manageable scheduling in accordance with daily responsibilities.  Taught by industry experts and experienced certified instructors, CTT courses are online via pre-recorded virtual classrooms. Students connect via audio and web media streaming. Upon completion students receive a Convergence Technologies Training Certification.

“We’re excited about offering this service to our clients,” added Mr. Endres. “Together with TechnologyUS (www.technologyUS.com), The Washington Network provides this $1,195-per-student training program to our clients at no cost.  Our philosophy since our inception has been to offer as much technical knowledge as possible to our clients. This is just another example of us living up to it.”

The Washington Network, Inc., reports rapid increase in the adoption of hosted VoIP phone systems among small to mid-sized businesses

Cost reduction and other benefits drive demand fro popular telephone system

Alexandria, VA — April 19, 2010 — The Washington Network, Inc., a leader in VoIP phone systems and computer network support for businesses in the Washington DC area, announced today that hosted Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) has experienced tremendous adoption by small to mid-sized businesses.  A number of distinct benefits such as cost reduction, system flexibility, built-in business continuity and advanced applications are driving the demand for hosted VoIP technology.

Unlike a traditional phone system, hosted VoIP requires no on-site PBX hardware, resulting in profound upfront cost savings. Instead, VoIP systems use remotely hosted, fully redundant offsite enterprise servers to place and receive calls via the Internet.

For additional savings, hosted VoIP technology enables a business phone system to be completely scalable and flexible – users can add or remove phones at any time.

Rick Endres, president of The Washington Network, reports that hosted VoIP serves the needs of entrepreneurs and enterprises alike. “It delivers powerful features such sophisticated auto attendants, disaster recovery tools and applications designed specifically for telecommuters and remote workers,” says Endres. Hosted VoIP systems include features such as unified messaging, automatic call distribution, call recording, find-me/follow-me, Outlook integration, softphone software, call flow reporting as well as traditional PBX features.

What’s more, hosted VoIP users are generally not restricted to proprietary telephones. They can often use industry-leading IP phones from providers such Cisco and Polycom, which are available from a number of sources.

The U.S. market for hosted IP voice services for business is expected to grow from 828,350 seats in 2008 to 4,910,499 seats in 2013, a compound annual growth rate of 42.8%, according to Interactive Data Corporation (IDC), a market research firm that focuses on the IT segment.  “For many customers, off-premise communications technology is preferable,” says Endres. “In a hosted environment, you can take advantage of cost savings, unmatched flexibility and great features knowing that if a disaster occurs, whether a power outage or natural, the system will remain up and easily accessible, with no interruption. It all adds up to an advantage for your business.

“At The Washington Network, after we understand our clients’ strategic business objectives, we recommend the right technology to support all of their needs. In more and more cases today, that means a hosted solution,” added Mr. Endres.
