The Washington Network, Inc. Names S. Gregory Cottrell as CFO

New CFO Cottrell brings 19 years of accounting, finance and strategic experience to The Washington Network, Inc.


ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA (April 8, 2009) The Washington Network, Inc., a provider of computer networks and telephone systems for Washington-area businesses and associations, today announced the appointment of S. Gregory Cottrell as controller/chief financial officer. Mr. Cottrell has 19 years of experience in accounting and financial leadership for technology-based companies.

Mr. Cottrell will manage accounting, create leasing programs, formulate financial strategies, and implement a new state-of-the-art project and ticket tracking capability.

Mr. Cottrell previously served as vice president of finance and accounting for CD Financial Company, Inc., of Herndon, Virginia, an equipment leasing company.  He was heavily involved in the company’s financial and business strategic planning. He was involved in the selection, implementation and design of new software systems.

Mr. Cottrell operated his own consulting practice from 2003 to 2007, and was controller for Resource Leasing Corporation in Herndon from 1994 to 2001. He graduated from James Madison University in 1989 with a B.S. in Accounting.
