The Washington Network Inc. Promotes Heather Crane

to Vice President of Operations

ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA (March 2, 2009) The Washington Network Inc., a provider of computer networks and telephone systems for Washington-area businesses and associations, today announced the promotion of Heather Crane to vice president of operations. She will develop and implement departmental strategies for client service, personnel and corporate administration.

“Heather has been invaluable to our success. She’s a natural leader, and her role has naturally grown. We’re thrilled that she’s taking on these vital responsibilities,” said Rick Endres, president of The Washington Network.

Focus on service

“Perhaps her most valuable asset is ability to understand our clients and their needs,” Mr. Endres added. “She’s a strong advocate for client service. For companies that provide technology solutions to non-technical clients, it’s very easy to fall short on the human side. So we’re lucky to have a professional like Heather Crane who cares deeply about our clients and their success.”

“Unlike most of our staff, I’m not technical by training,” said Ms. Crane. “It’s helpful for our clients to have a point of view that goes beyond the technology. In the end, we’re really trying to help them achieve their goal, regardless of technical considerations.

“Technology is just a tool,” she notes. “There are two things we want it to do. We want to make individuals and teams more productive. And, in this environment especially, we want managers to get more for their money.”

A competitive advantage for clients

She adds, “If we can help our clients to be more productive than their competitors, and save them money at the same time – then we’re providing a real advantage.”

Ms. Crane, 28, joined The Washington Network in 2006 as marketing manager. She increasingly assumed a greater role as a client advocate, was elevated to marketing director, and has taken on additional supervisory responsibilities.

Before joining the company, Ms. Crane provided member services for an international labor organization.

Ms. Crane received a BA from American University, with a double major in Political Science and Commerce, Legal Institutions, Economics and Government (CLEG). She is active in the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce and the Technology Assurance Group’s Customer Advocate Program.
