We design, install, and maintain computer networks as well as telephone systems for small and medium sized businesses in the Washington, D.C. area.  We have been doing this since 1987.  We are seeking a personable engineer—someone who just loves this stuff and knows their way around a network. Find yourself planning, designing, deploying, operating, and optimizing our clients IT infrastructures, migrating server platforms, as well as trouble-shooting various “knotty” network issues.

Our main focus is on Managed Services—this provides our clients with preventative maintenance and network support for a fixed monthly price. We are seeking the type of engineer who looks out to see what is on the horizon rather than waiting for the whistle to blow when a problem pops-up.

This position will be about meeting with the clients, determining their needs, designing a plan that addresses those needs, and implementing the new infrastructure. In the down time, you will be looking at the clients’ networks and making suggestions that move the client forward, and taking preventative measures that keep their system operating at optimum performance.

An interest in integrated telephone systems (VoIP) is a definite plus as is the ability to start immediately.

Do you have a track record of being able to effectively communicate with end-users?  Do you have a strong technical background (7-10 years experience)?  Have you had experience working in a multi-client environment? Do you like to focus on prevention and digging into the network to find errors long before they surface?  Are you able to hit the ground running and show lots of initiative?

Fast forward one year from now.

You stepped into a fast paced environment and quickly were able to provide valuable know-how as it relates to Windows networks, backup procedures, complex client installs, upgrades, and migrations of servers, Microsoft Exchange, and Active Directory.  Clients are raving about your ability to provide them with the needed technical support in a clear and concise manner. Clients have been able to become more competitive in their industry through your external support allowing them to focus on what they do best—running their business. You have taken junior technicians “under your wing.”  You are the “go to guy/gal” for knotty issues with servers, routers and firewalls.  You are actively looking at our existing clients’ network infrastructure and making recommendations for their continued optimal performance.

You are also participating in pre-sales consultation to determine the needs and technical requirements of prospects. You are dabbling in the PBX server arena.  And last, our clients are happy, you’re happy, and we’re happy.

It's a big challenge. Are you up to it?

Then send us a copy of your resume with your salary requirements along with a half page write-up speaking to the skills you currently have. Blow us away by the amazing magnitude of your skills.

No spam resumes please.  We are looking for individuals interested in the position we have available, make your resume and cover letter specific to our position.

Compensation is salary based and commensurate with experience and ability.  We offer a nice package of benefits that includes paid health insurance and annual leave.

Valid driver’s license and vehicle are required for this position as it requires onsite client support.

Must be willing to submit to assessment, background, and illegal substance testing prior to employment.
